Painting of a Windmill at the bungalow
In the paintings of the Impressionists, visible reality loses its physicality and material quality and becomes a mere appearance, an ‘impression’.
No longer the perceived itself, but the process of perception is represented. Through the use of cool and warm colors in both the foreground and background of the picture, the naturalistic perspective of air and color is abandoned. In the painting the windmill and the bungalow are kept in warm colors and are accentuated by cool colors. The foreground and background are done in gray.
